This is what soured us on doing the fostering to adopt through the state. Terrible parents get kid(s) removed and the state gives them to terrible grandparents who raised the terrible parents.

You don't just "get over" that trauma. I don't care what any ranter here says.

At six years old she should have been in the first grade. Would the teacher not have noticed and reported her disappearance??

Find the child a good permanent home, send these two back from whence they came.

Every parent on this board knows that feeling when you’re at the park with your 6yo and you lose visual momentarily…muscles get a little tense, heart rate elevates a little bit, breathing gets a little shallow. Then you see them and it’s like a pressure valve releases or something and you’re good again.

These two? They have never felt anything even remotely close to that. In any scenario.

I love a good redemption story and they say outcomes are always best when a functional bio-parent raises a child, but these two ain’t it fam. I hate this for the girl but she never needs to be anywhere near these two ever again.

Deputies determined that the girl did not attend school and had been homeless.

mandatory sterilization for both of them! While he was complicate, I strongly doubt that he was the actual father. Boy friend could mean several things.

Big time.

I can't imagine being a child and my parents literally abandoning me like that. I'm not sure I could ever trust an adult with love again. That poor kid never had a chance really either. shite is nothing but sad.

Children can be surprisingly resilient. I have a niece who was a drug addict and spent a year in prison. He kids ran wild and definitely felt a lack of love. She got out, got clean, and is spending every day trying to make up for it. The kids are the happiest I have ever seen them. Sometimes, kids just need love.
