Sad truth, the world would be better off with Saddam in place and powerful enough to keep Iran in check.
Our piddling around in Mesopotamia over the last few decades has brought all of this terrorism and power vacuums about. We keep creating monsters and we are too stupid to realize it's because we keep going over there and trying to "fix" it.
Let's worry about North America and our hemisphere. We can't even secure our borders and we are trying to project power in every region of the world. We need to go back to being the "Sleeping Giant". Yes keep up with the Military, keep on top, but not keep a constant state of war or "police action" unless asked by the UN or an ally. (Korea; Kuwait)
