Saw his name in several new stories on problem properties.

Sounds like a terrible name for an Amish dude who is in witness protection for ratting on the Amish Mafia. They aren't known for their originality, and Abraham Yoder settled on the first name that popped into his hatless head.

I don't know but a big chunck of tiger land properties are boarded up, it would be nice to tear those down

Torn down, burned down, nuked from orbit… anything that gets rid of them.

I am convinced that the sole reason someone hasn't bought those up en masse and redeveloped the area is that you would immediately be deemed RACIST. The gentrification people would eat the developer alive. Never mind that the current residents are living in rat infested moldy shitholes and its a war zone. That wouldn't matter.

Why develop something there until the entire area around it is cleared?

Putting luxury apartments in the middle of a shithole area is like having easy takeout for armed robbers.

That was the place to be back when I was in college from 1998-2003. It's a damn shame what happened to that area.

I rented apartments in that area from that dude in the early 90s.

Even then he was a Slum lord, refusing to pay for basic repairs including AC in the summertime. He would come by our place and remark how adequately cooled it was (high 70's) with the AC running 24/7. Went by his placed once to pay rent, could not have been any warmer than 65° in there.

He sure lived better than his tenants

It’s not cheap to remediate asbestos and lead based paint. You can’t just smash that shite up and haul it to the landfill.

Sure you can. You're not supposed to, but you can.

To live? Tiger plaza was ok, sharlo town homes were nice. But the rest of that area was a mix of ghetto and foreign exchange students during that time frame

I lived in sharlo from 06-09. It wasn't "fancy" but our place was pretty nice and clean and had a nice backyard. It seemed like within a year of graduating sharlo turned into ghetto shite hole.
