Tillman has bought up a ton of property in Galveston years ago for this reason. I doubt it ever happens but Galveston needs it

He's only as loyal to LC as his options allow him to be. If you think he wouldn't rather be in Texas, you're a tad hopeful.

Rest assured that OK and LA lobbyist are keeping pockets lined in Austin to ensure this never happens.

It's made for some very strange bedfellows.

Thank goodness Texas doesn't need the money.

You must not live in Texas.

After Ike, City Council of Galveston increased property tax rates bigly to subsidize the cost of cleanup.

Know what would've zero'ed that out? A Tilman Fertitta run casino. The bill failed.

It’s not just about zeroing it out. Give people a reason to go to Galveston that don’t have a house. A nice pool, casino and golf would go a long way

Is Galveston better these days or is it still a dump?

Tillman Fertitta bought the Golden Nugget in Vegas to learn the ropes and popped up a test run in Lake Charles to see how it would go. He’s gonna get a monster casino in Texas sooner than later.

Texas has Indian reservations, right? I'm really surprised he hasn't found one willing to take enough money to make this happen.

I'd imagine even Vegas would become a shell of itself if California legalized casino gambling.

Indian revs can only have gambling if the state allows gambling

Texas can't pass a law limiting gambling to Galveston. If a state allows gambling anywhere, then Indian Revs can have it

They are everywhere but I think they have dollar commissions on table games and no slots

Any casino that makes you pay a commission should be avoided on principle alone. I know Oklahoma casinos have a $0.50 commission on table games. If you are playing $5 a hand that's a 10% house edge before the cards are even dealt, good luck with that.

I have been in Commerce plenty of times and just realized they didnt have slot machines. I knew they didnt have a craps table, but never noticed the no slot machines.

Cali allows some poker variants b/c The state supreme court ruled some forms of poker games of skill. I don't know if Cali allows NLHE though.

Goodbye Shreveport -- DFW says.

Goodbye Chuck Lake -- Harris County says

Baton Rouge and NOLA would be your only "players".

There would be a strong arse move to continue to try (and fail) to push it into Ouachita Parish or who knows? Tallulah?
