They had this lady and couple dudes in the band singing songs outside on the patio.

We were there for hour or so, eve was pretty vibe was good….so we stayed and listened several songs.
The last one she played was amazing grace, which the lady knocked out the park… it was phenomenal.

It amazed and encouraged me to see how the crowd (which was packed outside) responded.

Gave me some hope in America and people. I saw people shedding tears and lifting their hands.

Redneck Rivera isnt as bad of a place as some make it to be.

Just thought I’d share this with everybody.

Alcohol + patriotic music gets 'em every time.

Were they playing Toby Keith "Red, White, and Blue" or Lee Greenwood "Proud to be an American"?

when I hear that term I think exclusively of PCB. Orange beach doesn't really have nearly the same vibe to me.

If I recall correctly, Cobalt isn't more than a mile from Florabama, the symbolic capitol building of the redneck riviera.

When the last time you been to PCB?

I ask bc we will go once every 2-3 years for a long weekend. I’m only good for like 3/4 night max at the beach

But, PCB, has cleaned up nicely over the years. Really cracked down on the spring break/teenager crowd also much cheaper than the Destiny area, and the beach is just as nice

a very long time. I can't speak to how it is now, I've heard they've started cleaning it up. I'm just talking about how it was in the 90s/aughts when it was definitely more of a party place than what I see from modern day OB

In general areas that are 90%+ white or east asian and largely at least middle class we are still a good high trust society in this country

Not my experience from a trip last year. The area around Pier Park shopping center was OK. The old PCB spring break strip has been taken over by white trash and bikers.
