Ignorant

It was 2 bucks to cross when it opened and it's 2 bucks TODAY with a toll tag.

But go ahead

Curious what % of each dollar collected is being spent on the bridge?

After the Crescent City Connection bonds were paid off, just 19 cents of every dollar in tolls was being used for the bridge.

$22-25 million a year was being collected, the CCC was missing out on another 150K per month. Because the company that had the software contract wasn't collecting on toll tags, when the credit card expired.

It pisses me off they want to do things that will cause more deadly accidents... adding a shoulder to the span is asking for trouble. You don't want cars getting reamed from a texter, dozer, or drunk because people are pulling over to stop for whatever reason.

So better for broken down cars to stop in traffic? Potentially at night... You've not thought this out very well have you?

It's not in the top 100. This is Louisiana, after all.

It's things like this that break trust in our public servants.

Read an article the other day that showed that Causeway tolls are being used for bridges around the state and not just the causeway. Also had a part where the bridge is supposed to be turned over to the state when fully paid for however new construction add ons will prevent that from happening in our lifetime.

Get the gravel trucks off during peak hours. Have officers actually patrol instead of sitting in one spot. Stop spending money on signs every tenth mile.

Seems like the only vehicles going over the side are huge pickup trucks.
Why not restrict or limit them.

I support the increase and I cross the causeway everyday. I moved my family to Mandeville for a reason and the toll keeps that reason out.

Keeping any toll amount will do this....it doesn't have to be raise and not knowing how to swim keeps them away.

With all of the tolls collected since inception, they could have e built several more spans with a few more lanes.
