I agree, but I don't have children. I can see how that might be the toughest. It's not suppose to be like that. They're supposed to live longer than you.

I've known people who lost a spouse and it left a big hole in their life. I've also known people who've lost a child and it just destroyed them. I pray I never have to face either.

All of us... this thread.. the spinoff thread.. EVERYWHERE IN LIFE .

I always find it really weird when people compare other people's problems/suffering/etc.

I can't imagine losing a child. Whenever I just think about it, I feel like I'm going to vomit.

Wait. You'd rather lose your spouse than your parent?

Huh?

Your parents are going to die first unless your spouse has a freak accident/illness..

id say the parents of the bride have it the hardest

I'd normally agree but she has to feel guilty for her friend's death, even if it was a pure accident.

People that use other people's deaths for attention and condolences and they aren't close to that person annoy me. Don't want to go on about something that's not really on par with topic so I'll stop.

i mean accidents happen. i'm not sure how it was totally avoidable. I'm sure she wouldnt have tried to pass if she knew it was gonna cost her friend her life.

Some people have a low panic threshold. I've been close to it a few times myself.

Your chances of dying in a traffic accident are actually lower these days than ever. I imagine they'd be *significantly* lower if people paid better attention, stopped being douches, and put the smart phone in the glove box. That didn't happen here but just sayin.

Are you saying that's the order it would hurt you the most? Like it would hurt you more to lose a parent than your child?

I think I would feel more pain in losing my parents than my spouse. IDK, I've haven't loss either one but I just think that I would feel more emptiness losing a parent that I would a spouse

At my age I have more history and memories with my parents than my spouse. I guess that's why i think it would be harder to deal with
