Wait, so you're telling me that a trustworthy establishment is lying?

That's just not possible.

That's the Spree. Had they tried using it to get Hilter out, they'd have been wide open to attack as the Soviets held not only both banks but also all the crossing sites as well by this time. Also, their only hope of getting out of Berlin by this point would be to reach Templehof airport. Going up or down the Spree would not help them since the airport is not close to the river.

Feces of Bulgarian Peasants.

It makes for an interesting story, and it's entertaining, but the way Hitler looked, physically,in the last film of him,it's hard to imagine him doing much of anything.

Seems to me most probably that Hitler committed suicide like he said that he did. It is possible that he escaped to Argentina.

I have recently learned that 10SS Division "Frundsberg" was still headed West and fighting through Red Army units as late as May 5th 1945.

Have you read this book?

It is a work of fiction by Ira Levin about creating little Hitler children from his DNA.

It is not about Hitler "escaping".

Good lord, please kill yourself now.

I watched a few episodes of hunting Hitler this weekend.
I did a bit of internet research. Hitler definitely died by suicide in Berlin. The problem with all of this was the Russians had remains and autopsy reports and wouldn't share with Allies until the late 60's. The Allies had debriefed Hillter's, Braun's and Borman's US trained dentist af the end of the war. The US had 5 premortum radiographs of Hiltler's head. Thus until the two sides compared notes in the late sixties neither side knew for sure if Hitler was dead. Thus all secret services had to follow the leads they received until the late sixties..

After reviewing both sides forensic data there is no doubt that Hilter killed him self in Berlin at the end of the war. Bruins remains were so burned that it's impossible to say with absolute certainty what happened to her.

I have lost all respect for the history Channell as they surely know this and have chosen the sensational academically dishonest route in their story.

I watched most of this series, and they made a very strong case for the escape, step by step. They were clear that there was zero eyewitnesses to ID the body, and zero physical evidence of his body, including the skull in Russia.

If in fact they are lying about this stuff, I have lost all respect as well. They didn't advertise this as fiction, as they have some of there other stupid specials, but rather as historical fact.

Come to think of it, wasn't the Alcatraz escape show on that channel? It seemed to me that they misled there as well, and declared the brothers as still alive in 1973, with no physical proof.

In one of the strange ironic twists of WWII, the last troops defending Reich Chancellery above Hitler's bunker were Frenchmen of the SS "Charlemagne" division. In fact they were among the last to surrender in the whole battle.

I saw that too, the Dental forensics articles I found were absolutely conclusive on Hilter.
He had some very unique dental issues and treatment.

The history Channell only talked about a skull cap that was DNA tested. The jaw fragments the Russians have are definitely Hilters. The Russian autopsy matches Hilters dentist allied debriefing exactly.

I might believe Eva escaped but not Hilter.

I love a good conspiracy and would like to believe Hunting Hitler. Hitler escape makes a fascinating story. Unfortunately History Channel is just pulling a fast one here.

And the sad fact of the matter is the average person nowadays is so ignorant of history they're very open to being duped into believing crap like this "Hunting Hitler" show on the History Channel.

The problem was that both the allies and the Russians had vital parts of Hitlers post-mortem identification and they didn't share. There was no way to conclusively ID Hitler without both parts. I can easily see why neither side would feel confident he was dead until they compared results. Even then in the late sixties when they finally decided to share the scattered parts of the investigation had to be found again. The X-rays were lost for a long time by the us army while in storage.
