It’s ok, we still have Cardi B

You left off Petty. I remember hearing his songs when I was a little kids in the early 80’s. He was huge on MTV in the late 80’s & early 90’s, then his Greatest Hits album and Mary Janes Last Dance single were everywhere when I was in college in the mid 90’s.
His career spanned across multiple decades and generations.

its like people just keep dying. Some even hasten their own death. Who'd have thunk it?

Aren't you a cutting edge fricking music guru? Shine was a 6-song EP with limited sales and Andrew Wood died less than a year later before their first actual album Apple was released.
So, I would not call a 6-song EP the "Voice of our Youth"

You may have a lot of bitches but I got much more"

Don’t forget those who distributed the music to the masses.
Sometimes they paid the ultimate price for their honorable work.

If it weren't for drugs, these people wouldn't have been "the voice of your youth"

Nobody wants to listen to clean, virgin rock stars. Counterintuitive to the whole idea of living vicariously through their ill decisions.

chinese58 mentions non-Chinese guy playing a kung fu master
That "I'm Easy" song of his brother's was easy to parody as a 15 year old or whatever I was:
"I'm Sleazy..."
"I'm Greasy..."
etc.
