ROBERTSDALE, Ala. -- Thinking about attended a big event this weekend near Orange Beach? If you’re coming from the north, beginning Friday you’ll be able to take an alternate route all the way from Interstate 10.
Officials with the Alabama Department of Transportation have confirmed that the interchange to the Baldwin Beach Express is set to open Friday afternoon, completing the nearly eight-year project stretching from Interstate 10 to its connection with the Foley Beach Express.

“This new interchange will have a dramatic impact on alleviating congestion on Highway 59 and will provide another critical hurricane evacuation route for our residents and guests,” according to a press release issued Wednesday by the organization.
You're Welcome LA folks

I was going to start a thread on it tomorrow for the opening of it but guess the beans have been spilled now...

They need a bridge now. This can't happen soon enough IMHO.

If, every five years, it gets me to the beach faster then I am all for them building it.

I take it you've never seen the Shreveport/bossier Texas street bridge's neon lights

if it helps me get to Destin faster, it's money well spent by the taxpayers of Alabama

Yes. It's needed. End of story.

Dude, I applaud Mobile for finally doing something about that stupid tunnel, and I doubt the OP has any ties to Destin if he has never seen Mobile traffic.

I drive to Mobile everyday, traffic isnt shite compared to BR or Birmingham.

Ocean Springs, moved down here in April. You helped me chose where to live

Being that the post office lost 2B the first quarter of 2014, I think a new bridge on I-10 is a great use of a billion dollars.
Posted on 8/14/14 at 7:48 pm to BigPapi21
You act like this is going to be paid from the city's budget.
Posted on 8/14/14 at 7:57 pm to LSUTiger205
To or through the tunnel tho?
