On the bright side, at least all the rain has kept most of the Southeast at around average temps for the year:

That makes it even worse. We don’t even get cooler temps as a trade off. It’s still hot as frick and the sun isn’t even out.

We've had about 27 inches in Rockport since Monday, system seems to finally pulling away to the north. We had a hurricane without the wind, most of the town is under water.

That whole system reminded me a lot of August 2016 in SELA. Upper low parked and was close enough to the gulf to practically be a tropical depression over land.

You'll find a lot of sympathetic folks to Rockport's plight around here.

Yeah it's crazy by my house in N.O.

Rains every day at some point. I have a back yard vegetable garden and we've gotten so much rain it's cause root rot in some plants and the last of my tomatoes split open prior to ripening from so much uptake of water.

I still have okra but picking it daily finds me barefoot and up past my ankles in muck as I walk between the rows.

What I'm very concerned about right now is that as we creep toward peak season, if we don't get a pattern flip, the Gulf Coast is going to be wide open for every damn system to slam somewhere in the continental US. This pattern is crazy and unlike anything I've seen in a decade. This constant rain is nuts.

I just put down new sod front and back in the spring and I’m worried it’s getting fricked by being practically underwater for weeks on end.

Most people I know that moved out west did it for better weather and not for a job or significant other.
If we ever move away it's going to be because of the shitacular climate in southern Louisiana. I have a pretty decent quality of life outside of that.

ETA: and yes it's definitely been rainier than "normal" this year. It's putting a cramp in my pool season. I can't really plan a pool party if it's going to fricking rain every weekend.

I share that concern but those troughs can also open up the subtropical ridge earlier to get a storm north sooner. I do suspect this pattern roughly continues, with occasional warmer dry spells as the subtropical ridge noses farther west into the heart of summer.

That's nuts. I can't keep control of weeds. I've already gone through one canister of weed killer, which usually lasts an entire summer. Talstar is doing nothing for the misquotes this summer. it has rained so much the standing water in the woods behind my house it nuts... can't even think about going out around dusk right now.

On the positive side, my grass and plants/flowers have never grown so well.
