I never squat more than 175.

Nothing wrong with 135, OP.

Let me get this straight, everyone here criticizes people for not working out or being sedentary, then they make fun of people when they comment about how getting in/ back into it feels? Why is it that the same person who might help someone struggling to, let's say change a tire, become complete dicks to people just getting started when they are in the gym?

Perfectly said. Screw the people giving you crap on here OP. Keep at it.

I'd say 75% of the people on earth can't do 225 ten times.

You should get out more. People in undeveloped countries do heavy manual labor all day every day, they're often dumb as a mule but as strong as one too.

No you should do since research, he is right, in fact his number is low. 225 for 10 Reps is close to a 300lbs max. 95% of the people in the works can not put the bar on their backs and do a true arse to grass squat with 300 lbs.

We aren't talking a pussy arse quarter squat like so many that go to the gym call a squat. We are talking true all the way down squat.

Less than 1% of untrained individuals will be able to do that. And very few normal gym goers can.

I can only speak for Cameroonians but they are generally weak for their size. I see guys in my gym much larger than me that are charmin soft.

As for the OP keep working on it. I'm with some of the others in that I don't go full out in the squat rack anymore. My knees sound like a 4th of July fireworks show. I put in a good workout but by no means do I push my limit. I like being able to walk more than being able to squat 250.

Do you actually mean arse to grass. I'd do arse to grass squats with 135, but no more as it was hell on my knees. But that's literally arse on my ankles. You shouldn't be doing that with a lot of weight. Now if you are talking about getting parallel, that's different. Most I'd work out with was about 275 (again, I have chicken legs), but felt better about myself doing that then the guy who loaded up the bar and bent his knees some. If I felt like I might not have gotten parallel, I pulled in a box to "tap and go" to make sure I was getting parallel.

forget the haters in this thread. Your soreness shows that it worked.

With knee issues, I would def focus on full range of motion and staying/ gaining flexibility
