How do we know this when such a small portion of the taxes collected go to roads and bridges.
Pass a law requiring all funds collected go to roads and only roads and then I'll listen. Til then frick off
This X 11000000000000000000
frick you Magildschunk. We pay enough taxes on everything. This cell phone tax passed b/c nobody knew about it. Otherwise we'd have opposed it.
You feel like you don't pay enough in taxes? Then write a check to the state treasury. Otherwise go frick yourself.

It's a big reason for them going to other states.
I guarantee you it isn't as big of a reason as the taxes here. Good god you're stupid. You're either an educator or a politician. You're definitely a democrat.

I understand the mistrust from some prior tax related bills' allocation, but this one was for real. It was going directly to infrastructure. The past dealings and subsequent mistrust has hurt everyone in the state of LA now.
Hell, folks in the engineering world were ellated because of the work that would come our way and the in depth Intel that it actually would. Oh well. LA will continue as it has......thing is, the roads are actually degrading at a faster pace now with no aid in sight.

No it wasn't.
It doesn't matter. Didn't get passed. Thank god.

That tax could only be used for roads and bridges. All 17 cents a gallon would have gone to roads and bridges ONLY.
yeah sure, just like the Lotto money was to be for education.

This little nerd thinks that because he read the paper, or runs errands for some rep, he's an informed citizen. And the rest of us are willfully ignorant.

Well, if you actually followed the bill and read all of the regulations included instead of just listening to your inbred neighbors, you would see that the way it was written, it would have mandated that it all go to infrastructure ONLY.
But just keep on whining about the crappy roads. They aren't going away anytime soon.

yea until next year when some bureaucrat passes an ammendment to undedicate the funds and it goes into the general fund.
But yea lets trust the DOTD director and our crooked governor that they have best interest of the people in their dealings.

Well you have a few options here since most folks dont want to pay more taxes to improve roads.
1) Stop voting for fricktard who reallocate dedicated funds to the GF. However, we all know most of the population is too stupid to even comprehend that.
2) Stop bitching about shitty fricking roads.
3) Let if pass and make the funds ironclad. You do this by following #1.
------------------------------------
Texas has taxes on gross receipts (which some economist say is worse for corps) yet we are pulling in Fortune 500 companies like no other. I wonder why?
1) Educated labor
2) Booming Economy
3) Great Infrastructure
La has none of those currently.

They can't do that's without rewriting the state constitution.
And Jindal was the corrupt governor when it came to DOTD, not JBE.

That's less than 2% of the population.

All of this. The gas tax was the only thing I've supported in this administration. The same people denouncing it will be the ones bitching about roads. Meanwhile, LA will continue to get passed over for major investment projects.

78 thousand isn't a small group no matter how you skew it. This tax used to be assessed to land lines and no one has those anymore
Eta 4.4 cents is 2% of the total taxes on your bill
