Everyone and their mom just got done having a fall fair/fest this weekend with no masks and everyone riding the same rides, touching the same stuff, gathering inside gyms for bingo, facepainting cakewalkes, games, etc.
Also, we've had tons of football games with crowds.
The needle continues downwards to almost no cases.
And then we go back to school today with masks.
This is beyond stupid and fricked up.

It’s all about his petty lust for power. He has used Covid to make himself King, and our constitution allows him to bully and browbeat any legislators that try to stand up to him. For those of us living in BR and NO, it’s the worst trifecta in history with the President*, Governor, and Mayors that are our “leaders”.

If he extends the mandate in schools, it’s abundantly clear that he’s just on a power/money trip. I hope that there are school districts that will stand up to the bullshite. There were 400 cases state wide of children 5-17 at the last report. Come the frick on JBE- although I’m sure he’ll point to the ‘rise’ in hospital beds over the weekend as a ‘negative trend’ It’s ridiculous when Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi have all seen the same trends we have, in the same time period, without the ‘mandate’

It needs to be lifted. Including schools. My wife works in a district where it is now the parents choice on whether or not their exposed child needs to quarantine. It should be the parents choice if they should have to wear a mask or not

I think if it gets extended, or as I saw one article say, if it only gets extended for schools, there will be some serious pressure put on individual school boards to defy it.
