That update makes a lot of sense. Just looking at the hourly for Br earlier it was showing cloudy all night, now 70% chance of rain

At 12:00 AM on Friday, January 21, 2022 I-110 will be closed in both directions from I-10 to US 61due to anticipated wintery precipitation. Motorists are advised to use an alternate route. For more information on road closures check 511la.org

The easiest/simplest way to look for snow, sleet, etc. on RadarScope is with Precipitation Depiction.

There are other ways to determine what you're looking at, but just to get a good idea PD is the easiest.

Gotta love my local forecast....

[9:30 pm] Brrrr it's cold outside. Overnight lows will be in the lower 20s tonight, but with gusty northwest winds it will feel much colder. Minimum wind chills tonight drop down into the single digits to low teens. #HUNwx LINK

36° BR, so yeah....just cold rain now. A few degrees to go before anything falling "has a hull on it" as my Pops would say.

How about a primer for us amateurs in precip depiction mode.

Green rain?
Pink ice/sleet?
Blue snow?

Lot of this pink approaching BTR.

Why did they designate 2 I-110's(Louisiana, Mississippi) so geographically close together?
Not to mention another I-110 in Pensacola, FL
