Slayeens was always over rated but it was the Fo Star dining establishment in Da Strop & Mohouse Parish .

The original Middendorfs in Manchac.

When I was a little kid we used to go there a few times a month. Driving from Metairie, had to get off I10 at Williams Blvd as I10 was still not completed to Laplace. Williams to Airline Hwy to Laplace to Hwy 51 to Manchac (I55 was still not completed).

I remember my dad would bring two Miller High Life’s in glass bottles for the trip there.

Netas in Minden. It's a tiny little BBQ spot in the same location since 1955. On Shreveport Rd, just outside of the Dixie Inn city limits.

Last time I drove through it looked closed for good. Haven’t been back to Bastrop in a few years. Gonna make that drive from east TN ASAP and get a sammich! Thanks for the great news!!!

Original owners tried to sell it but couldn’t find a buyer until later, closed then changed hands. Food still sucks donkey balls but it’s all they got besides Sonic

Zesto in Bogalusa. Chili hot dogs for 15 cents in the 50s. Somewhat more expensive now, but still great.
