Lets just call these small town police departments like the one in the OP for what they really are and that's legalized thievery and robbery from from government sanctioned gangs.

I call on a couple of plants that are just north of the town limits. I can’t recall not seeing a cop car waiting to catch a speeder on my way through town.

My cousin dad was from the Castleberry/Bruton areas of Alabama. He was an ole country brota, but he moved to Houston and earned a nice living before kicking the bucket.
