McDonalds employee left the lid loose on the coffee in my drink tray yesterday - i have burns on my hand, leg, and stomach. At no point did I think the employee should die.

Technically, the woman did try to throw the hot water at them. Even though the cops were super aggressive, is it how they were trained in these types of situations?

I would hope they are only trained to use deadly force to meet deadly force. I don't think throwing water, boiling or not, is deadly.

Toss in some civil asset forfeiture and it becomes actual robbery.

I see nothing that changes my mind about anything. May he rot in prison.

I have no idea what the law says. Hopefully a lawyer can fill us in.

You should definitely change your sig pic to defend this woman's honor.

It worked so well the last time you acted like a complete horse's arse.

So her trying to stand up with the pot of water and having it in a position to throw it forward didn't stick out?

Let's assume for a moment that this insane take is true. Given the distance between the officer and the woman, do you honestly think that the boiling water, just based on physics, would have reached this officer where he was standing? Also...the officer could have, I don't know, backed up if he felt threatened.

Instead...his first instinct was to pull his gun and bust a cap in this woman's head before anything untoward had even happened.

I don't see anything from the video that leads me to believe that she was about to toss boiling hot water on the police officers.

Around the 3 or 4 second mark you can see her pushing the pot towards the officer. If there was water in the pot, I think that's pretty evident that she tried. I don't think it warrants escalation; especially when you consider once she threw the water the "threat" was over. It was split second, but appears he shot (based on my recollection of the timing from the other video) after he retreated from the water.

What's interesting about this video was there were a number of posters that claimed once she ducked and said "sorry", she put the pot down. This video disproves THAT, but does prove he escalated the situation and "the threat" was over

How was it not murder? The cop turned off his bodycam, stated intention to kill, and then killed.

The cop had already been reassigned from multiple police forces for poor behavior. Man just wanted an excuse to kill someone then tried to stop his partner from performing first aid.

Cop has worked for 5 different LE departments in the last 3-5 years. Has 2 DUI convictions. Now he's a murderer. Anyone defending this shooting and or this cop is a dumbass.

I have already said that I think the cops made the wrong move and escalated the situation.

I am curious under what legal authority can they make that instruction, as she called them to help her. She wasn't under arrest, or even being detained, or even under investigation of a crime. They were literally guests in her home.

If you haven't seen it yet, there is a video in another thread from the other officer's body cam footage. She actually said she was going to throw it on him, he then responded he would shoot her in the face. And that is when he pulled the gun out. So, his gun was drawn as soon as she made the verbal threat with the pot in her hands.

Again, still don't think it justifies his actions, and without seeing the statute it does appear he is being overcharged. Hopefully, IL is one of those states that if he's overcharged, he can still be found guilty of a lesser crime and he doesn't "get away with it" on a technicality.

She never said she was going to throw it at him. She only said that she rebuked them in Jesus name.

I mean she rebuked him in the name of Jesus. Is he just supposed to walk away and let her live after that?

I just can't fathom how you came to this conclusion. She's sitting on the couch. They tell her to take the pot off the burner to avoid a fire. She does as instructed. The one filming walks away hurriedly which makes her ask why. He states to avoid the boiling water she has in her hands. She then says, "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus," and the shooter FREAKS OUT. What was the deal exactly for him to react that way?

As far as the point of the video you're speaking on, she's cowering from a cop with a gun pointed at her head for doing exactly what he asked her to do. This guy should have NEVER been a cop. I see fear and a pussy that had no right having a badge. He's scared to death of her armed with water 15 feet away...He's retreating as he shoots her. Then calls her a crazy bitch and tells his partner not to try and save her. He should be hung on the White House lawn on every channel.
