Looking like 37% popular. An arse-kicking.

I wasn't trying to spin it

Just saying if you were walking around Mandeville saying you were voting yes, it wasn't well received from the soccer moms.

So it looks likes the folks in Slidell had better turnout than western St. Tammany. If so, I’m glad it worked out that way because the casino would have a direct impact on Slidell and IMO it’s only fair they get more say.

didnt slidell already reject this so they made it a parish-wide vote? if i remember correctly.

Tried editing it.

I'm in the west and everybody in my neighborhood I spoke with was a "yes.'...but weren't saying that publicly. Who knows, maybe they were against it the whole time.

All good bro.

I know Kenner was against this. Most of the City's tax money comes from the casino. It's the cash cow.
They are ecstatic is about to move on land locally.

AFAIK it was because the law requires the parish wide vote to allow it in the parish. I do recall some form of prior action by Slidell itself but not exactly what it was.

I don’t know how anyone could think that this casino was a good idea. It would do nothing but recycle local money. Casinos in New Orleans (harrahs)attract tourists from all over, Biloxi attracts gamblers from several states, Shreveport attracts gamblers from dallas, lake Charles attracts Houston. A casino in Slidell was an awful idea from go.

Dude. It was to have over a 1000 tables and only 100 hotel rooms.

There’s no other indicator needed that it was intended as a throw and go, i.e., NOT a destination location.

Everything else was just bullshite that the company wasn’t contractually bound to deliver on if it passed.

Where do the Kenner, Baton Rouge, Harahan, Amelia, Baldwin, casinos attract gamblers from?

Why couldnt the Bossier City attract Dallas or Arkansas gamblers?

Probably from the local community. Are any of those casinos you listed doing well or are they limping along?
