And what happens when he purchased his gun before that?

Guns were made for killing people. Period. Anybody that says otherwise is an idiot. They market rifles for hunting but the military uses them for sniping people. Shotguns weren't invented to kill birds, they were used as a close quarters combat gun.

Unless every gun is destroyed as well as the plants and manufacturers, then criminals will own a firearm. Its shooting fish in a barrel.

With that said, Im keeping my guns, and Im buying more. I can reload my own ammo also.

People want the Govt. to give some kind of mentally ill test to check if we are qualified to purchase or own a gun. I have a problem with that. How many people in this country are on medication? Now what are the side effects of that medicine? If a person with no prior history of mental illness is suddenly on a certain medication, with a certain side efect the GOVT can declare that a person is unfit to own or carry a fire arm.

The solution is not banning guns, or having medical tests done on people. The solution is for every adult person to open carry a fire arm. People freak out if they see an individual walking with a high powered rifle in the street but every person on the street is carrying one, its no big deal.

You could stop jerking off to your big bad gun long enough to fire a shot?

nly that gets a weird feeling by how political and matter of fact the dad and boyfriend are? The girl was killed on live TV and 24 hrs later the dad is in front of every microphone he can find with barely a stutter.

I said this earlier and it's why many conspiracy theorists think some of these events are staged to purposely stir the debate so that the gun control crowd can slowly get more people on their side.

Not saying I believe it but I can see the logic in their argument when the first thing a grieving parent does is make a whirlwind media tour.

While I agree that more law abiding, responsible gun owners should carry, I don't think every adult person should. There are a shitload of idiots out there.

You don't know how background checks work

I have to keep background checks on me and all of my sub-contractors and their past employment history, lawsuits, etc isn't on file and wouldn't make one bit of difference.

And that doesn't make them cheap, doesn't make the old guns go away, nor does it make them reliable in emergency situations.

Neither was any other invention when it first is developed. That is a ridiculous argument.

Just spitballing:
1) no more automatic handgun sales. Revolvers still legal; ammunition sold at police stations for $10/round.
2) gun "buyback" run by the FBI. No cash, fair market value for the gun in the form of tax credits. (Might be more expensive than that dumbass Cash For Clunkers, but not by much).
3) magazines more than 6 rounds must be destroyed.

so I lose my gun, I lose my right to own the gun, and to compensate...I get to pay my already too high taxes with the proceeds.

I know. But we have a shite ton of guns, it's so easy to get your hands on one. Sure a knife and a bat are also weapons, but if you miss with either you rarely hit a bystander.
You miss with a gun and you wound or kill someone else.

Even before "thug" culture we had these issues.

It's too late now, if we were going to go that route it would of had to been done 50-70 years ago.

Feel free to take your chances against someone like that while you are unarmed. I and many others will arm ourselves legally and constitutionally to protect ourselves and others.

That is the great thing about America. No one is making you carry a gun
