Ski Googles for Doctors to help fight the Wu Tang Virus

Less than five days after the email arrived in Schaefer’s inbox, the Hawley resident has organized about 100 people, who have helped distribute more than 7,000 ski goggles to 50 hospitals in nearly 20 states.
"We just created this one little conduit where you can’t do anything. You’re supposed to stay home and just watch this steady drumbeat of awful news come at you,” Schaefer said. “It feels like this impending sense of doom but people are motivated to help by nature. There is a lot of good out there.”
The need for goggles arises from a lack of PPE at hospitals around the country amid the coronavirus pandemic. Volunteers around the country have been trying to aid healthcare providers with donations.

Harbor freight has hundreds Of thousands of safety glasses on the shelf for 1.99 but that won’t get clicks

Can you get the virus in your eye?

This is bullshite because this virus isn't as bad as the media claims it is, is what a percentage of the OT thinks.

Most of those safety glasses are useless for this though. They are too open on the side and droplets can easily enter there. We’ve received donations of safety glasses that we won’t use(at least not for COVID) because they won’t adequately protect the eyes.
Needs to be like goggles. Have more of a seal around the eyes. Or faceshield where it covers entire face and sides of face.

Is the virus very “eyeball targeting”? Because with goggles, your nose/mouth are open for business.
I trust my ultra-high fast blink reaction vs. my mouth closing

Goggles can easily be disinfected and used multiple times by multiple staff though. The virus is very easily killed with the cleansers we already use at work.
And my hospital has enough eye protection that we are not gonna give our staff ones that we know are not gonna properly protect them.
