I absolutely would not put it past those whack jobs to tell kids they should go to CC to atone for their white privilege. Was it written in the presentation? Probably not, but we all know that when you give presentations you don't just read what's on the slide. You generally put up general bullet points then fill in the gaps with details or examples. I definitely wouldn't put it past SJA to say such things.

The sad thing is that if smart, driven students went to community colleges before 4 year universities they would likely do better and make more (certainly be in less debt) than if they went straight to a four year university. They would make better grades their freshman and sophomore years and would be able to get into a more prestigious university if they so desired.

However, average to below average students are more likely to fail if they go straight to a four year college. Four year universities require more independence and obviously cost much more. Although I did all 4 years at LSU, I took some community college classes. Community colleges offer much more hands on guidance.

Now, if the presentation and messaging isn't about that, and its a teacher and student discussion after it, then those parents getting in a tizzy and making it more than it is is ridiculous

One of my favorite parts of school was arguing with our lib religion teacher freshman year. I would go home pissed and tell my dad and he would give me stuff to argue back the next day. Simpler times I guess

This is actually dumb as frick. Teach more white kids trades, so they have a successful life with plenty of avenues for income? LOL. Other than party life, there are fewer reasons for someone to go to a traditional 4yr university than going to trade school/community college.
