How old are you? Uptown, south of downtown, Knox/Henderson and the Greenville area are your answers. The specific area based on age and what you can afford.

I lived at Jefferson at the North End in 2006-2007. Greatest apartment living year of my life. Had Mavs/Stars tickets with my dad. That was a great run.

That North End pool was a 20s singles mecca. We had BBQ & drunk volleyball every weekend. All the girls brought their friends over in droves. Loads of fun was had by all...still friends with a handful of the people tay lived there thanksnto social media.

Moved to Post Uptown afterwards. Then downtown then the damn 2008 recession crushed life.

Heard recently they're set to demo North End for a new high rise. Hate to see it go.

You could be every OU grad from those years that didn’t go work at Chesapeake.

Look up the Alexan on lower greenville. Don’t know what the rent is but it’s 50 yards from the lower greenville action. I lived at Lakewood Flats when I first moved to Dallas. It was also nice and full of singles. Walking distance to 2 breweries, Cane Rosso-awesome pizza, and its on the White Rock trail.

Texas is horrible now. Everyone hates it here and is leaving in droves. You’re better off staying out west bud.

Uptown, Knox/Henderson, Lower Greenville. Can’t go wrong with either. Uptown isn’t as great as it was 5 years ago though.

Uptown/Oak Lawn, Knox-Henderson, Victory Park/Harwood District, Lower Greenville.

As far as nightlife, Uptown is a shadow of what it used to be. At least half the hot spots of 5-10 years ago are now downright dangerous. In the last year there have been multiple murders & people getting run over as Pedestrians Uptown. That was unheard of even a few years ago. There are still some nicer spots Uptown but you need to check what the clientele is before you go. The Chinese Virus has caused good places to close too. Victory Park came back big time but without Mavs/Stars games & concerts it isn't as fun anymore. Deep Ellum started booming again & then got dangerous again.

Victory Park, Knox, parts of Uptown would be ideal. Lower Greenville is chill. I find Deep Ellum sketchy nowadays. I work in the industry and rents have been coming down a little bit lately.

When did uptown get so bad? Was it really just the last 5 or so years ago?
