Gotta go check out that King of Queens episode with him in it. Classic
He was also on an episode of The Drew Carey Show where he played himself and was revealed to have been married to Mimi at one point.
The guy definitely had a good sense of humor.

Sorry he has the big C. Wasn’t a huge fan though. Kind of like Huey Lewis, his stuff sounded like oldies when it was brand new.

My Eddie Money "brush-with-fame" encounter:
When he toured New Orleans in the early 90's, he stayed at the Pontchartrain Hotel where I was working as a bellman.
Down-to-earth family guy. He had a tour bus, but he said it was mainly for his wife and about 4 kids (toddlers) that he brought on the road with him. "This (family) is my life."
Gave the desk and bell-staff tix to his show that week. I don't recall him drinking but he came to the bar section to mingle with us afterwards and gauge our reaction to his performance. Being goofy, I told him "It was Money." He laughed so hard, he made me feel like he hadn't heard it a million times before.
I remember Ron Swoboda being there and peacocking himself to Eddie as a reporter & former Mets player. Very cringey.
Eddie was an un-assuming, unpretentious "celebrity". Just a great dude/genuine guy.

Nice guy. He came to Nashville years back to pitch some of his hits as country songs.
So there we were, out at Johnny Cash’s cabin studio in Hendersonville first thing in the morning cutting tracks with fricking Eddie Money. I’ll never, ever forget this moment.
We’re out on the porch, smoking and listening to playback when Eddie pulls this 80’s style plastic comb out of his pocket and says “Guys, that sounds so good I gotta comb my hair.”
Then he combed his hair.

Something that ‘sounds like an oldie when brand new’ could also be considered a classic.
I’ll agree that Money was never a musical genius along the lines of a Dylan or a Springsteen.. but his songs were very catchy, eminently listenable and great background music for whatever was going on in your life at the time it was out, which can take you back 25 yrs as soon as you hear the opening notes come on the radio- kinda what music is supposed to be, when it’s good.

Wait, acid reflux can cause esophagus cancer?
I have mild reflux so, if true, i guess i’d better seek treatment for it.
