1/23rd of a Haydel's cake is 110 calories. Who the hell only eats a 1-inch slice of king cake?

Now I'm curious, what's the sugar count?

I thought it was now a requirement that all packaged food provide nutritional values?

What's the point though? We all know its dough and sugar and filling. It's loaded with empty calories. It tastes damn good. Just eat it and don't worry about it.

If I remember correctly, this was part of Michelle Obama’s fitness launch and Obama legislation. Donuts made and sold by grocery stores are also labeled. I guess some people need to know how many calories they are consuming when eating fattening foods.

Because I want to know how many 1” slices I can eat to get the same amount of calories as I would if I ate three meals a day.

What about the full calorie count when you add on the two scoops of Blue Bell king cake ice cream?

Because not everyone wants to do that. There are many calorie counters out there who will adjust an entire week's calorie budget to have a treat like King cake.

More info isn't bad and I don't know why people dislike it.. you don't wanna know, don't look

Some people count calories or have sugar restricted diets. Some people are just curious. In any event, how would having more information about food be a bad thing?

If you don’t want to know what’s in what you’re shoveling in, don’t look. Some people want to know so the info is available.

Yeah I’m glad it’s there.

It doesn’t hurt to know. I wish all food - including restaurants - had nutrition information.
