I spoke with my parents over the weekend (they're in BR) who are Cox/Spectrum customers and they were telling me they've had a bunch of issues since the purchase. Seemed a little strange to me as I don't know what would change so drastically in such a short time frame. They told me their Internet keeps messing up and that they also needed a new modem and I think something else as well, but I can't remember exactly what it was now. The whole thing seems a little strange to me.
That’s what we are seeing too. Are they still having issues.

Internet faster and more reliable than ever. But probably because I switched to Starlink.

I've had Spectrum for years and mine sucks worse after the buy out, but that being said, it gets worse every year. ATT is running the fiber down my road and I can not wait to switch.

I have cox. I despise them. They just got AT&T fiber in my neighborhood. I signed up, the technician came out and said I would need to hire an electrician to run the wire into my office were the modem would sit. I said no thanks. The salesman said they would send someone new to try but I would have to sign up again as my order was "canceled".
I called Cox and "Switched" to Spectrum. I am getting a new modem this week, but my rate went down pretty significantly and I now get unlimited internet. I still get 1g.I have not really had issues with the internet per se, but I would have likely preferred true fiber to the home.
I would prefer AT&T but don't feel like dealing with it.
AT&T also ruthlessly marketed our area. I got 4-5 calls from different sales people offering half of their commission, multiple folks showing up at my door, etc.

Sounds like my switch to Starlink was made just in time.

We have.
We are hearing we need a new modem.
That doesn’t seem right.
Read the fine print if Spectrum replaces your modem.
When I had Spectrum for five or so years they had to change the modem a few times.
Each time the bill jumped up even though the representative/installer said it wouldn't and it was a hassle to get it resolved.
Read a ton of people complaining about that on line at the time.
Switched to T Mobile home internet and zero issues with anything at all for 3 years.

We've had issues in Birmingham. Both my doorbell and thermostat gave me an alert that they were not connected. Shortly after I get a text alert from Spectrum about an outage in our area. Several hours later I get another that service to my address has been restored, but I may experience intermittent outages as they address the issues in my area. That went on for about a week. Every time it would go out I would have to reset the router and modem. Seems to be working again now, but I'm not sure what should cause outages for over a week with a company that size. I keep waiting on AT&T Fiber to switch to.
