Gaudy and provocative even in death, the 'narcos' of Culiacan have built their own tombs, equipped with 24-hour air conditioning, wi-fi, bedrooms, kitchens, home cinemas and other comforts for their families who come to visit their remains.

I think I saw somewhere that Medellin cartel would write off $1 Billion/year to rats and water damage.
They had so much cash rats were eating $1 Billion of it per year

Those are actually really nice. I made one like that for a stray we took in for for a month that ended up getting ran over by a 4 wheeler. I loved that cat.

"Pablo Escobar had an estimated known net worth of US $30 billion by the early 1990s, but as this new footage shows, the Cali Cartel made $22,500 every 30 seconds. That's $23.5 billion a year.
At their peak, the Cali Cartel controlled an estimated 90% of the world's cocaine shipments.

Can you imagine how much better the world would be good people had this money instead of assholes like this?

quote:Watch Narcos and you get the idea they are also trapped like rats. The other cartels, their government, our government are all looking for them to either kill or lock up. They simply cannot spend the money the earn or travel freely to enjoy it....the "lifestyle" like a self induced prison.

Money is only a small part. It's more about the power

Good people wouldn't even make that kind of money. They make that money because they're monsters.

Pablo Escobar would write off about 10% of his revenues because he knew he would lose about that much to rats, bugs, rot, etc. because his money couldn't be stored in the safety of bank vaults. It is estimated that he was writing off about $2B per year and was bringing in almost $500M a week in revenue at the height of his operations.
His monthly budget for rubber bands just to hold the money together was in the thousands of dollars.
This was in the late 80's/early 90's.
Escobar would laugh at what the Sinaloa cartel is earning and spending on tombs if he weren't just as dead as they are.
