Call me slow, because it took me a minute to rationalize it out.
The original 100k on engine B isn't factored into the odometer reading (this is the "trick" part of the question) so you subtract engine A miles from the odometer total (372-175) which gives you the total milage (197) put on engine B after installation. You then add the original 100k to the 197 put on after installation for a total of 297.

You could do this in your head w/o a calculator pretty easily.
All you had to do was look at your post and see it 372-75 then see that its 3k from 100 difference and realize that its 297K.
