Developed a pretty bad case of pulmonary edema when I was a kid and my parents tried to take my on a ski trip when I already had the flu.

I remember flashes here and there, but feeling like death in the DIA airport then being perfectly fine by the time we hit MSY.

Norovirus 2008. I started a new job the same day I got sick. I went in, and after filling out paperwork for HR, our group ( 20 or so) went on a tour of our call center. I threw up in front of my entire training class. I had to drive home with vomit all over me, and in my shoes. To this day, I am not sure how I could make the 15-minute drive home. I was sick for 9 days. I lost 12 pounds. Covid did not even compare.

I got pneumonia and was still a smoker at the time. I thought I just had bronchitis but when my wife (you dont want pics, trust me) finally convinced me to go to the hospital, the doctors said I was nearly dead. They were amazed I hadn't come earlier. I stayed at Lady of the Lake for 5 days. They couldn't figure out what strain of pneumonia I had (who knew there's more than one?). Gave me "broad spectrum antibiotics" to ensure they fought off the correct strain. Unfortunately for my wife (no pics), I lived.

I’ll say it. Covid before it “came” to America. I’ve had pneumonia and walking bronchitis together. I had a hernia in my nuts. But when I got that first round my god. I felt like I was going to legitimately drown on my own mucus.

Of course, it wasn’t in America technically then. But I live in Orlando. I absolutely got that shite and was the first time I’ve actually called in sick to work.
