Should we start calling out friends/family on excessive selfies?

It's getting out of hand, really.

Calling these people out might shame them into humility. Yea or nay?

Start calling out everyone. Why keep it in the family? Self absorption and lack of shame are kind of ruining society.

I say leave them alone. I got bigger fish to fry than to worry about what people are posting on fb.

People can take as many selfies as they want. It doesn't bother me.

Few things make me cringe quite like 50 year old women constantly taking and posting selfies. They're probably the same people who say gen y is full of social media addicted narcissists.

It's weird when it's your friends or family though. You see them for gatherings and it's like "yeah saw all your selfies on the internet. Cool!"

Dude. You nailed it. I have this 50 year old aunt who all of a sudden thinks she's this instagram fashion icon (she just buys a lot of clothes). She's always having people take pictures of her for IG. It's weird AF.

I called out someone I was friends with on Facebook and he unfriended me. lol This guy is a total narcissist though. He posted 20 selfies a day and that was just the ones he posted, who knows how many he took trying to get the ones he liked. He has also gone on to photoshopping them with some app. You can see where he stretches his arms and legs and chest to make them bigger. It is pretty obvious when the floor tiles in the background are curved all of the sudden.

Or just not say anything at all perhaps?

People are annoying on FB, it happens. Whether it's posting numerous selfies, political rants, 2 year old funny videos, etc. Most of it is just harmless, if it annoys you too much....just unfollow them on your feed.

I call out my sister in law all the time but sadly it does not long term shame her into humility

This. Mine is the worst offender. She needs her own damn social network....

Should have been happening especially men. I don't have any pics of myself that isn't some kind of landmark (top of a mountain, etc.) or with a fish or buck or something. Never got how dudes would want pics of themselves.

I think it's time to call out people who let what others do with their lives bother them so much

I say let them keep doing it. from a mans perspective it's the easiest way to know that this chick is crazy and to stay clear.

I unfriended one of my high school classmates for taking selfies. Dude was constantly posting pics of himself at the gym.

53 years old and taking selfies like a little girl. SMH.....
