How many folks do you know that encountered a non functional traffic light during their driver's test?

Yes, and better vehicle inspections, like a MOT in the UK. People are driving cars that have no business being on the road. Then you have baws in their lifted trucks with aftermarket headlights blinding people.

Here in TN they are doing away with emissions testing. It wastes more fuel and causes more emissions because people wait in line for 30 minutes just to have their car's computer system scanned for error codes. They don't even test for emissions on modern cars.

personal automobile accidents were up over 1.7% last month and as a result, more than 0.3% deaths were caused due to those absolutely troubling and right wing caused numbers.

WE are all in this TOGETHER!

if we all just do our part and STAY OFF THE ROADS, then everything in the world would be better!

why exactly do you need your own personal automobile anyways? like... seriously?.... in today's world we have government provided transportation, Uber/Lyft, bicycles, etc.!

The worst thing here in metro Atlanta is people having no idea how to navigate a roundabout.

You’re not supposed to follow the car to your right. It’s a 4-way stop. Its whoever was there first.

It would be nice but overall people would complain about having to retake the test AND having to pay for it.

The only drivers that should take driving tests are the unvaccinated.

Driving tests are still a scan though. I failed my first one at 16 and 14 years later my only ticket is a seat belt violation. I knew lots that passed the first time that constantly got tickets and totaled cars.

Your insurance should all be tied to your ID. You should have to scan your ID to start your car kind of like that drunk driving device. If insurance is lapsed or there is no insurance, car won’t start.

YES, but passing a test isn’t going to make them adhere to the rules of the road. They’re just going to do what they want anyway. I used to think it was pure ignorance, but now I’m convinced it’s laziness, and in doing what they want regardless of who they put out to get what they want.

For instance, tying up a lane of traffic behind them because they forgot to get into the turning lane is not ignorance. It’s a failure to give a shite about anyone else on planet earth. A very similar thing can be said for the mass confusion at down red lights. They know. They just don’t care. If it benefits them, then screw everybody else. That’s the mentality you’re dealing with here, and why it’s bigger than just not knowing any better. It’s not caring.

After 65 every two years. Doesn’t have to be all or nothing. No interstates or highways restrictions for example

Sure. Everybody's got time for that.

If you have time to renew your license, you have to retake the driving test.

Instead of having all these government bureaucratic tests, Hoops to jump through, fees and licensing and then letting people frick up left and right with a slap on the wrist.

I'm more for allowing people to do whatever the frick they want(freedom) until they frick up, then drop the hammer on them(justice).

Freedom and Justice are always the answer. Never bureaucracy and barriers

Ugh.

Legally you're supposed to yield to the person to your left. However, practically, for the sake of moving traffic, the two cars opposite of one another should pass each other in succession only yielding if one of them has to turn. In other words, the East and West facing cars go. Then the north and south facing cars go and so on. This is assuming traffic is backed up in all four directions and there's multiple cars waiting in line. Otherwise it's first come first serve, as you said. From a legal perspective, there's never been a good way to legislate a four-way stop. It's part of the reason why Traffic Engineers are going to roundabouts everywhere.
