Should the firm handshake be only restricted to men?

I give a semi-firm handshake, but I think a person would come off as an a-hole with hard grip on a dainty female hand.

I've had some men crush my hands when they've shook my hand to the point that I had to grab it back in pain. They lose immediate credibility with me for having such a lack of common sense.

I do the finger shake with women.

I lightly shake guys' hands.

If they pull some hulk shite while we shake hands, I will establish dominance when we shake hands upon leaving.

I match their grip. It isn't that hard.

It can go either way--either you don't squeeze hard enough and the woman thinks you did it on purpose because she is a gentle woman (i.e. you are patronizing her) and not strong enough or you squeeze the shite out of her hand causing said female to accuse of trying to exert dominance over her.

I have avoided this trap altogether as all I do know is act like I'm Japanese and bow to them. It takes them by surprise.

My preferable handshake is the one ace gives roger prodactor when they first meet
