I remember this from an old thread.

Cigna gives you a discount if you take a little physical and are not obese.

Every business I’ve ever been to, the obese ones are the ones that can’t seem to do their jobs properly. Every time I go into a DMV, or a grocery store, its always the 300 pound wildebeest woman that is slowing everyone up. We need more energy in the workplace, not some obese slugs slowing everyone down.

Sure, let’s put 60% of the workforce in disability, food stamps, TANF and section 8 just so you can get through the DMV faster.

Fabulous idea.

Do you realize how limited the hiring pool would be if you base being obese on a BMI scale that was developed in the 1950’s? I believe the average American man was 5’8” 120 pounds in the early 1900’s...

According to the BMI scale lean nfl defensive linemen are considered obese.

Let’s please not compare the top 0.001% of people to invalidate the BMI?

We all know any person with basic muscle mass would be obese, let’s not jump to hyperbole

I've had a gallon of water and three pots of black coffee today.

There are ants on meth not as productive as I am.

Gubment jobs where they must meet the public = 300+ pounds and the ability to look right past you and not see you there!

I think that example has more to do with drive and ambition. Low skill jobs are all that they can get no matter the inconvenience. Otherwise, we would be paying out way more welfare

A good place to start would be the cardiologist I brought my FIL to last week.
I couldn’t believe the amount of people that work in that office that were way overweight.
They would easily be considered morbidly obese. They sure don’t practice what they preach.
The Dr. himself could stand to lose more than just a few pounds.

Why do a test? You can look at them and tell.

I won’t hire morbidly obese people. Like my boss said when I had my first job as a young teenager “they didn’t get fat by working hard”

It kills me when I see a fat nutritionist. They are almost always women too. I just don’t get it

Yes, someone like CEH is considered obese because BMI doesn't take into account muscle mass.
