The tucutes are gonna be pissed!

(Those are the "transtrenders" who don't believe you "need" dysphoria to transition, only the want to have it done because you feel like it. Otherwise you're a "truscum".)

I am torn on this. Its a very expensive procedure and it is optional, so that makes me say no.

But at the same time, I have so much empathy for those that think they were born the wrong sex. Can you imagine how horrible that would feel? ALL THE TIME.

They need treatment, not enabling.

Lots of trannys still off themselves even after getting their operations. It's because they eventually realize it was all a mistake.

They get convinced by the liberal media that transitioning is such a good idea, and that the medical advances and technology will have them looking like super models.

They transition, and then realize how fricking ugly they look and how they look like a cheap bastardized imitation of a woman. They view themselves as a freak and not a real woman despite all the brainwashing they got from the LGBT lobby and liberal media about how transgender women are just as much of women as actual women are and gender is a social construct and all that garbage.

They then realize that it can't be undone, and they are worse off had they not transitioned at all, and kill themselves rather than admit they were wrong about it all.

Insurance should cover therapy and mental health treatment for all people who suffer from identity disorders.

They should absolutely not be required to cover what I imagine is a hellishly expensive and complicated elective surgery that will only fuel an identity disorder.

That said, I'm not against insurance companies covering this procedure ....I just don't think they should be required to do so, and I'd want to minimize how much I have to subsidize elective procedures for other people.

Jimbeaux hit the nail on the head.

If a person wants to pay a monthly premium for that sort of coverage then ok.

This is problematic because insurance is a special type of contract. Insurance spreads amongst many the risk that a few may need coverage. People who have gender dysmorphia (or whatever its called) should be the only ones who would want this type of coverage. An insurance company can't make money by just selling the coverage to the people who need it. It has to be spread among a large enough group, most of which will never seek the coverage, in order to be profitable. It seems to me that, as a practical matter, this coverage has to be forced on a lot of people who don't want it in order for it to make any sense for an insurer to offer it.

But, if someone can figure out how to make it profitable without forcing it on people who don't want it, then, by all means, let insurers offer the coverage.

I'll chop your dick off for you if you want it done cheap and cheerful. Just show up, pull it out and I'll slice that weasel right off.

They seem to want to establish a clinical condition prior to treatment with persistent onset symptoms, i.e. Gender confusion. Now here is the thing, they want to make sure you are cray cray. By definition if you agree to the surgery you are crazy.
