How do you know all this if you live in Metairie?

I know it’s a wild thought, but I do have friends/clients that live in Orleans who relay their experiences. I had a client in lakeview that had a ditch in the street in front of his rental property where the tenants couldn’t access the driveway for over a year. Care to prove me wrong on any of it?

Re: police in Orleans, friends wife had her purse snatched at rouses on carrolton around 5pm. Buddy called the cops to file a report. They showed up at his house at 1am.

From Long Island NY. Tulane is my alma mater. Graduated 12 years ago, but things are different in NOLA now. Also have a job offer in Dallas, but I prefer living in La and working at Tulane.

It’s actually better now than it was before Katrina

How much $ are you looking to spend?

Also public schools are terrible unless you are is a magnet school, kids need to test into. If not figure 10k a kid for elementary school until high school then 15K a year

Live uptown around Tulane. Working at Tulane, living uptown, and living a compact life around the university is terrific. Most of your colleagues will be in that proximity, and you will feel a part of a close knit community.

Your kids can go to willow, Audubon, or newman.

Join the uptown JCC and send the newborn there when old enough.

It’s rarely a great idea to buy a home in a new city you have never lived. This doesn’t seem like a time to diverge from that. Renting for a little while to learn the area is almost always a better idea.

This is sound advice.

You’ve brought 0 facts to refute my points

I’ll add on, friend in lakeview had water shooting up in front of his house for a week. Only reason he got it fixed that quickly was a crew was working down the street and he got them to come over.

I don’t need to prove or bring facts anywhere. You’re the only person that is making false claims based on speculation

I actually live in Orleans Parish, and experience different shite everyday.

You should be more worried about your little shack in Metairie

I can recommend a landscaper if you wanna cut those bushes back a bit

Luling
Kenner
Mandeville

Just a few places I looked when I was moving in 2018. Settles on Luling and I gotta say it was a great choice. Where I lived very very low crime. Amazon package sat on my front porch for a week one time before I noticed it. None of my stuff got jacked (generator, pressure washer, etc…. My daughter even forgot to shut the door one day and it stayed open for hours till we returned home.

All of the instances I stated in my posts are 100% accurate.

Comparing my water bill with 3 other families in Lakeview, my bill is roughly 1/2 of theirs.

Also are you saying the numerous articles bemoaning the state of emergency services are false?

If you are able to deal with all the bullshite of living in Orleans Parish and ok with sending your kids to Willow (has a Tulane employee priority admittance) than this probably your best bet. And you can definitely live on $200,000 salary per year here.
Your issue is going to be housing. If you don’t have a significant down payment for your 500k house, your mortgage monthly payment is going to be very elevated with the high prices of property tax and homeowners insurance. Possibly $20,000 a year for both combined. Lakeview/Lake Vista is probably a little more family friendly and safer than Uptown but obviously you still deal with same New Orleans bullshite.
