You'd know better than anyone on here. And it'd be highly dependent on where in Ukraine you are, how embedded you are in local communities, what languages you speak, etc.
Regardless, the sky is not falling. You're probably fine, given that Russia views Ukraine (especially eastern Ukraine) as Russia rather than a separate entity. Which is true, historically. They're not gonna genocide anyone, in any case.

If you want honest advice, leave with your family. There’s no reason to take the unnecessary risks that come with staying especially with a young child. Worst case scenario if you leave is that Russia doesn’t invade and you feel a little dumb. Worst case if you stay is you and your family are killed. It’s a simple decision

Look, probably nothing is going to happen. But if it does, the consequences could be catastrophic for your family. You do not want to be in an area of conflict if things deteriorate and you have other options. If your wife is refusing to leave, you need to get the baby out.

There is that. I'm in more danger being an American than the wife. If I get out after an invasion it will be because Russia let me leave and I'm sure they will have a few questions first.
I could actually make them more of a target as my wife would be questioned as well. Do I make them safer by staying? Probably not but leaving doesn't feel right if there is an invasion

If it were me,I'd be unable to sleep knowing they were still there.
Although today's nukes are capable of erasing most life off this planet, Antarctica might still be safe.
N America, Alaska, S America, etc.
Literally nowhere on earth will be safe in the coming nuclear global war.
Humans can be so fricking stupid. Our modern world has reached great technological advances and its about to be destroyed. And there's a damned thing we can do about but wait for it to happen.

I’d get out. Prior to ground troops or air strikes against military targets Russia will employ cyber warfare to cripple critical infrastructure and shutdown all digital communications in and out of Ukraine. (They tested this in Crimea last time.)

I’m the last person you should take advice from but I’m going to give my prediction. Biden is having such a rough stretch that he wants people to think Russia is about to attack so he can come out of this the hero. I think Russia and the Ukraine are going to work this out. Biden needs the appearance that the invasion was definitely going to happen until he stepped in.

The wife could stay with her parents. They have a water well, chickens, jarred food etc. It also a little village with no military value.
It would be very miserable however. No utilities, no heat, no internet, no phone, nothing to do but worry if soldiers are going to take your supplies and freeze all day.
