I hope all this mess is enough to convince you to keep your boys in a neutral Swiss sperm bank from now on.

I was called out on the baseball thread last night. Apparently the poster was upset that I was posting about baseball and didn't update you guys. I actually updated this thread about a hour before the game, but I appreciate that he actually cared about my situation.
I just spoke to my wife this morning. It is 8 hours later there, so it is already 2pm. They still don't think Russia will invade and she is making her plans for IVF next month in Kiev. She tried taking money out of the ATM this morning and it wouldn't let her but besides that everything is still normal every day life there.

If they evacuate you will definitely get some good deals at the refugee camps.

The parents are Doctors and so was the wife when she lived there.
How old are you? Retired? Your wife goes to Ukraine for 6 months routinely without you for a majority of the time and you have a baby? That’s pretty weird man. Not to mention doing IVF without you?
So her parents are both Doctors and connected but they live in a tiny house on a farm? Surprised even in Ukraine 2 doctors don’t have a little more comfortable life style.
You do you, but no matter what you say it’s weird as shite to leave a wife and a young baby in a situation like Ukraine. I wish your family the best of luck

Stories a little fishy. If it's true you should have been a man and stayed with your wife and child or got them out instead of leaving them to potentially die.
I don't believe your story. Need hard facts. Documents, pictures, flight tickets, passports etc.

I'm 53 and the wife is 40. I started working on a early disability retirement in Aug. 2021. I am dealing with two lawyers and medical doctors. Between that stuff, financial reasons and the fact I need a visa after 90 days in Ukraine. I decided to return to the states in Feb. and go back in June - Sept. I debated altering my plans because of the threat of invasion but ultimately I didn't. This would have caused me numerous problems with money, doctors, lawyers and the visa. If I knew Russia would invade, I would have stayed. Keep in mind two weeks ago, Ukraine was still encouraging tourist to come visit. People in Ukraine, even now, laugh at the idea. We are like brothers, they tell me. I don't tend to believe everything our corrupt media and government put out.
If they do invade, I believe if I stayed it would make evacuating more difficult for my family as an american trying to get through Russian roadblocks. Not to mention we were running out of money in the checking. It takes money to evacuate.
As for your question on the parents. Doctors don't make much money in Ukraine. My wife made $450 a month as a pediatrician. Her parents do better than most Ukrainians but choose to live in the house, the grandmother left for them. They have one small vehicle that is 46 years old.
After our marriage in 2015 the wife would go back twice a year to visit her son and parents. I would go with her for about 2 weeks in the summer, because I had to work. Keep in mind, our relationship started as a distant relationship, so this wasn't any more unusual than it had always been. In 2021 she delivered a baby and spent the whole year in the states. We decided we would go in Dec. and bring the baby. In April 2022 she would try for a second baby and return to the states in Sept. I'm not working right now but with the visa and all the other stuff going on, I couldn't stay the whole time.
I would be happy to share photos but I can't figure out how to get them from my phone to here. I tried sending them to my email, so I can put them on my laptop but that didn't work either. If someone would care to explain, I will give it a try.

The apartment complex that I was staying at. They all look alike and are from the soviet era.

City of Kharkiv. The buildings and churches are beautiful. Streets are crowded, everyone living life as normal.
