I say that you dodged a bullet.
I went out on a date with a guy that spent the first 30 minutes of it talking about how dogs should not be allowed to sleep on the bed and how gross it was, etc. so I pulled out my phone and secretly ordered an Uber, then "went to the bathroom".
If someone you just met is so ruffled by that, there is no reason to waste your time on them.

Can’t fathom a reason why anyone would want to own a dog.
Incredible companions. The bond is inexplicable.

The crazy part is that we haven’t just met and he knows my dog always sleeps with me

No to the bed. Any other furniture, I would be OK with. They can sleep by or under but not on. They can have have their own bed. I don’t think that’s unreasonable.

My dogs are part of my family. My dogs are more welcome on my couch than most people.

Do dogs play poker? I rest my case.

My cats (2) are not allowed on the countertops, the dining room table, or my bed.
I don't get in their beds, they have multiple. They don't get in mine.
I don't get on the countertops or table. They're not either.
They spend more time on the couch and loveseat than I do.

It really shows people’s characters when they say they don’t like dogs. I tend to find these types of people to be very vain and untrustworthy
Smaller pups and dogs I like having lounge with me, big pups are gonna have to chill next to the couch.
I've never been a dog in bed person though. I like having my freedom of movement and space.

My dogs use to be allowed, then I got nicer furniture. So I bought them foam dog beds.

Depends on the dog and the furniture.

People who let their pets into their beds are gross, nasty humans. I have to take a hot shower before I feel clean enough to get into my sheets.
frick no to letting dog or cat on my bed let alone into my room.
Couch? Sure. No problem there.
