Should citizens revolt against school taxes if schools remain closed?

Teacher unions in Los Angeles refused to go back to work in the fall unless charter schools were eliminated. It’s a ridiculous demand that has nothing to do with Covid other than the virus being a cover for them.
The result is that LA county will not be opening schools in the fall. That’s the second largest district in the country. The likelihood that other districts remain closed is very high.
It’s extremely difficult for parents to return to work if public schools remain closed (which may be the real goal). Many will turn to private schools or tutors, but most will have to choose between staying at home and watching their kids or leaving their kids at home while they go to work.
Why should teachers that refuse to work collect a paycheck?

What about everyone else who’s letting the government mandate or dictate what’s open and what’s closed?

If I am remembering correctly, Los Angeles teachers striked about 6 months ago.

Teachers I work with worked pretty hard during NTI in the Spring. Matter of fact, most hated it because they were expected to throw together online instruction in days and if you're truly interesting in ensuring your population is staying engaged it takes real work to do so. Many were working 16-18 hours a day to accommodate all students.
The problem comes when people not in the classrooms are putting together safety guidelines that aren't remotely feasible to protect teachers and staff. Take it up with them when they can't even provide teachers on a regular day with Lysol wipes.

If Los Angeles was looking out for the taxpayers, they'd tell the teachers to turn in their supplies. There's no reason someone in Los Angeles has to be paid those sky high salaries to run an online course.
They can find perfectly good, cheap college students all over the country to do this for a fraction of the costs.

They kowtow to special interests like Teacher Unions - who are completely against the best interests of the student or parents.
I'm all for online classes, but that shite doesn't need to be done in-house or by a local school district at all. Let college students across the country administer that for dirt cheap. They are probably better at it than most public school teachers anyways.
