i disagree. she gets blindsided with a chair. All bets are off. no telling what else the other girl will throw at her. She shouldn't stop until she knows the other girl is under control.

Nope, not in a classroom. She should remove herself from the situation, and certainly once the teacher gets there. If she wants to maintain her cred, she should expect the consequences.
Like I said, much less than the instigator (who should probably be expelled), but a classroom isn't the streets. Self defense is a thin line.

If you took them both outside, hooked them up to the bumper of an F-250, like black and white truck nuts, and dragged them until there was nothing left it would end fighting at that school.
They would just need to call a meeting in the auditorium where they showed the video of the dragging. The principal would then stand up. say "Now, who wants to fight next?", drop the mike and go back to work.

White girl gets expelled and possibly arrested for blindsiding girl with chair. Black girl gets suspended for fighting after teacher tried to shut it down. No fighting at school.

I watched. I believe that only the white girl should be suspended for the incident, but the teacher kept telling the black girl something and I couldn't make it out; maybe that is why she was suspended.

So no video of what started the fight? I have a hard time believing that one student was just sitting at their desk doing class work while the other student went all Pearl Harbor with the sneak attack. Somebody already had their cell phone out recording so something happened previously.
But I have no problem with the chair thrower being expelled.
