Stupidity/Ignorance can apply to both sides of the political spectrum. Especially when people only see buzz words. Here's another poll by the same person.

I would bet more people know what Arabic numerals are than who first theorized an expanding universe, but it's still funny.

I'd bet most of the people calling the people dumb did not know what Arabic numbers were before reading this story and would have also been fooled by the poll.
