You didn't do anything wrong. Dog was a nuisance and you gave it a stimulus less painful than a bee sting. Too many pussies in this thread.

Half the people in this thread were shooting their friends as kids. No sympathy for stray dogs here.

This is has been a founding OB law since it's inception

OB rules apply to hunting situations. When hounds roll through your spread, the ones who don't have collars get the green light. This is basic law of the land.'

But this douchebag is talking about his neighbor's dog in his yard. He knows it's his neighbor's dog.

This. The OP handled the situation poorly IMHO. I don't know anywhere that it is legal to have dogs running loose. The owners are poor pet managers and need to be told by law enforcement officials to either keep their dogs fenced in or in their home. If they are outside of a fenced in yard then they should be on a leash.

You say this like it is an element of their trashyness

All it takes is a good down pour one or two days out of the week and the grass grows quick. There have been times this year where my grass would get mowed and three days later it started to look like it hadn't been mowed in over a week. Two weeks every once in awhile, if it hadn't rained much, but if someone hadn't mowed their yard, during the summer, in 3 weeks, call me whatever, but I consider that trashy.

You can't handle it like adults, you shot a dog with a pellet gun. That's not adult behavior.

If I call Animal Control, it will take them 2 or 3 days to come out. If I don't have to call to remind them that I called a few days earlier. If the owners see the traps, they will probably then put the dogs in the back yard, etc, etc.

I don't need the police to handle every little situation.

9mm headshot in your yard. "I was in fear of my life" to police. Case closed. The police hate lose dogs too.

Would you bet me $200 that I made up this story? If you are so sure that I made this story up and you accept the bet.. I will do what I can to prove it.. If you are so sure, then let's go $500. If you are so sure you will take this bet.
