Gerry Lane GMC on Florida Blvd has 0% financing painted on the windshields of all their Sierra’s.

I may go take a look.

They're not reliable anymore since they put the DOD lifters in.

I’ve been looking for a while and unless I decide to spend a lot more money it’s going to be a Silverado 1500 Custom Trailboss with the baby diesel in it.

I’ve looked at better decked out trucks and can’t come to grips with dropping another $10k plus for “nice” to haves that won’t matter in a few weeks.

As someone mentioned earlier in the thread, go check out Royal GMC. I bought a 2026 AT4 with the baby Duramax in November. They were able to beat prices from Gerry Lane and Ross Downing

I have a ‘24 Tundra iForce Max and I really like it. Fun to drive, lots of power, no issues so far (bought it April ‘24).

I have a 2021 F150 that I had to replace the transmission at 72K miles so there is that.

My cousin had a GMC Sierra with the dreaded lifter issue. (5.3) He also just had 6.2 Liter replaced in his wife’s Yukon. 22K miles.

My brother has a 2021 Ram 5.7 that just went over 100K with no issues.

Nice. I would likely do an Elevation package with the diesel. Just not ready for another note.

Why no to the 3.5? I'm about to buy one with this engine...

They have known issues with cam phasers. I had to replace them twice on my 2018 king ranch. First time was around 50k miles and was covered under warranty. Second time was right around 100k and I had to pay. Other than that the engine is an absolute beast. If you get a 3.5 definitely get an extended warranty.

Eta: maybe they have fixed this issue by now.

I’m pretty sure the cam phaser issue is resolved on the newest Gen 3.5. 10 speed is sketchy. The 8 speed ZFs in the Ram is the best transmission by far.

Hit cargurus online and look to see if there are any 25 models still in stock. Open up your search area. May have to drive a little more but you may find a dealership ready to part with some old inventory. Deal over email communication and just remind them you are ready to get them out from under the floor plan that it's still on.

Happy with my 2022 GMC Sierra AT4 with the 3.0 baby Duramax. 70,000 miles. I think I’ll be keeping it for a while.

my advice - search outside of your geographic area to find the best deal.

2 years ago I was in the market for a new truck. I, like you, was open minded on make, model, etc. Through research I found the best deal at the time was a Ford F150. Once I knew what I wanted I researched who would give me the best price. I found a dealership west of Fort Worth TX that had the best price. I even contacted all of the Ford dealerships in the Baton Rouge area (who had what I wanted in stock) to see if they could even come close. None of the local Baton Rouge dealerships could get anywhere close price wise. So I bought a one way plane ticket, flew to DFW, took an Uber to the dealership, bought the truck, and then drove it back to Prairieville. I estimate that I saved about $5000 doing that.

Wow. Did it make financial sense when you factor in the one-time Louisiana sales tax charge?

Just bought a 24 f-150 lariat CPO for low 50s. Sucks, but that’s the market. I looked all over the US.

Yes - if you are a Louisiana resident and you purchase a new vehicle it does not matter if you purchase it in Louisiana or out of state you still have to pay Louisiana sales tax.

My EXACT scenario but I need to drive there bc I have a trade in. Have another friend who did what you did.

Values can vary in different region. If the truck is good condition, has clean carfax, clear windshield, and good tires, it should bring $45-47k. It could be closer to $50k in some areas.

Wow, that's about what I paid in December 2019.

just an opinion but I doubt you could put a realistic value on something like that compared to all of the other 1/2 ton trucks that is out there right now. Mechanical reliability wise, nothing out there in the truck world today in 1/2 ton trucks is going to be in the same category as a 20 tundra 4x4 w/ ~30K miles.. Sure the newer stuff may have more gadgets and tech but frick that, you have an awesome truck, I would make upgrades or changes where necessary to scratch the itch of wanting something new before I got rid of that. If you have cloth seats, replace with Katskins, if you have chrome bumpers and grill get color matched wrap, audio your thing, replace it buy speakers and and new head unit, try different wheels tires, etc., etc.
Keep that truck

I admit I do get the itch sometimes but it's paid for. I drive a company truck M-F that's why it has low miles. Btw, I've been wanting to wrap the chrome for a while. Still haven't done it.
