Just bought a Honda Odyssey EX-L for the wife. We have 3 kids under the age of 7. Took out the middle seat in the second row, and you can move both captain chairs anyway you like on the track. Super easy. We pushed both captains chair together on the driver side so that our oldest can easily get to the back. It’s the most practical thing to drive with young children. Vehicles are just physical things that bring you and your family from point A to point B....minivans make that seamless.

Chrysler Pacifica is pretty nice and has a built-in Blu-ray player for those travel ball parents.

I liked our Toyota Sienna a lot. It was comfortable and had plenty power.

Sure, driving a 4Runner or RAV4 will make your wife look so cool, since only really extreme badasses drive SUVs, but you’ll never regret having the minivan.

If I Honda Odyssey could pull a boat I would have one.

Can they not? When I was a kid, we pulled the boat with a minivan all over south Louisiana.

Why do we still call them mini vans?

We have a Tahoe because it’s stylish and we didn’t want to be minivan people. MIL has a Honda odyssey. I’ll be damned if that Honda isn’t bigger inside somehow. For $30k less.

Mini vans are also great for off roading.

And drag racing.

People used to pull boats with regular cars all the time back in the days before Urban Cowboy. Those cars might’ve been a little heavier than modern cars, many with V8s and rear wheel drive.

We had a Toyota for 16 years. 1999 model and it's still on the road with 20 year old driving his soccer team around.

It’s not like anyone is impressed with a Tahoe. They’re certainly nice but no one mistakes you for a rugged frontier survivalist or crazy extreme adrenaline junkie.

Minivans for families with young kids. Remote door openers are a Godsend when you're lugging an infant carrier

Trade it in for a Yukon when Braylen and Kaylen turn 12 and start travel ball

So you value your self respect off what you drive? I make my vehicle better because I choose to drive it, not the other way around.

We pulled a bass boat with this growing up

To contribute to the OP congrats. People that shun minivans have no idea for all the reasons in this thread. Even past the infant carrier stage, not having to worry about your kids banging the doors against other cars in parking lots is s relief. Just teach your kids to be responsible and carefully open the door, you might say? Ok, sure

Ford Transit van. Get the medium high roof and pimp that bad boy out with LED lighting, captain's chairs and a big video screen.
