I only heard someone say it was about shoes. I believe it was over one of the gentlemen registering for a class before the other one could. It cause the other guy to have to take the same class with a less desirable professor.

I went into a Hibbett store once about 3-4 years ago. Son was looking for some new shoes and wife/daughter were looking at swim suits. I swear I heard the record scratch when we walked in the door. It took me about 2 minutes to realize that Hibbett wasn’t where we were going to find shoes for a middle school white kid

I worked at Hibetts for a while. Everyone should be there for a Jordan launch one time. Just once.
We took the phone off the hook for two weeks. Why? Because it rang incessantly with the same question: y’all gonna get them J’s? Even though my store didn’t get the shoes because we weren’t an ‘urban’ store, the day of the launch we had a line around the building for us to open. Manager had to call the cops to make sure they didn’t rip the door off the store like they did at another local store that didn’t have the shoes.
Once we had some baby J’s that came in on clearance. No idea why we got them. Some grossly obese woman came in with her child. She saw the shoes and freaked out. Even though they were a size or two smaller than what the kid needed, she bought them and put them on the kid anyway.
Honestly, I’m surprised someone hasn’t made some documentary about this.
