12 shots fired, officer struck (non life-threathning) and gunman is dead. Someone who works nearby posted the following on reddit:
quote:

The gunman ( who works security ) on bourbon was playing Russian roulette with a semi-automatic pistol on the corner when he then took a woman hostage and put the gun to her head. Then proceeded to fire one round at a police officer and was then shot dead. They are loading his body on an ambulance as we speak with what looked like a failure to resuscitate.

From what I can see about 8 blocks are on lockdown at the moment.

I’m not aware of the status of the police officer, but I know for a fact he was shot.

Start a thread when there isn't a shooting

Usually results in a quick game.

Edit: him calling it an automatic pistol kind of ruins it.

Is an everyday occurrence really newsworthy?

A minimum of 10 posters will not read the article and say

“Just another day in Nola”

So I’ll save some of you. This does not happen everyday.

Suicide by cop usually gets this board excited.

Guess it happened in NOLA so it is looked down on this time.

Playing Russian Roulette with a semi auto pistol kinda takes the mystery outta that game.
