Doctor's having trouble stopping the bleeding. Reminds me of Sean Taylor.

Is there an update since then?

It's my understanding that stable and critical aren't mutually exclusive. Stable I think just means that the patient isn't getting worse.

I ain't no doctor, but I remember a long passage in the book Blackhawk Down about why hip and thigh wounds were so dangerous. Something to do with the femoral artery, I think.

Hang in there Steve. We are praying for you.

I found this and wished I hadn't.
"Critical: Vital signs are unstable and not within normal limits. Patient may be unconscious. Indicators are unfavorable.
The term 'vital signs' means indicators such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration. The one-word descriptions are not medical terms, and they are more art than science. They're based on a doctor's best judgment of a patient's condition, as relayed to hospital spokespersons."

Sounded like he may have lost a lot of blood in addition to whatever his injuries are.
I hate that the SOB is dead. He needs to suffer for a while. I hate that he may be successful in taking someone out even worse.
The thought of what may have happened if the two officers weren't there is unfathomable.

He could be critical and stable meaning not out of the woods for death, but not getting worse. Rep. Scalise has a chance of organ failure if blood loss was significant enough, infection, bone necrosis, blood clots...so many things could happen right now that you just can't take him off the critical list. Many prayers need to go up for days to come...this will be a journey...

There was a scene in the movie where a soldier had a severed femoral artery that they couldn't repair. Runs near your hip and down your leg. It's one of the ones that you can bleed out quickly

I agree. I wish they had kept that sack of shite alive.
Right or left, pro or anti gun, I think everyone can agree there is entirely too much violence in our country. Gone are the days of agreeing to disagree. Violence is so often the response of the disgruntled now. And I don't know how rational thought can be forced.

the wounded Tyson Foods lobbyist was a former college baseball player who was coaching the GOP team for tomorrow night's charity baseball game

Don't know if it's been mentioned here, but the game will continue tomorrow as planned

W Scalise still fighting for life, kind of feels inappropriate
Posted on 6/14/17 at 6:28 pm to Chad504boy
Meh, I doubt scalise himself would mind. It's a charity event

It's good to see this kind of response.
I read earlier that both teams are going to wear LSU gear in honor of him in the game.

I'll admit it. It took me a minute. Then I did a spit take when it hit me. Bravo. Laugh badly needed.
