Poor guy had mental health issues. The cops didnt need to shoot him. All he was gonna do was chop em up in little bits. Poor guy and he was black too. Rabble rabble racist cops shoot another poor black guy that never hurt nobody

Perp shot 3 times. Tsa agents and jpso sprayed in face with wasp spray. Tsa agent hit with machete. 1 innocent bystander grazed by bullet.

The airport is owned by the city of New Orleans however it is surronded completely by the city of Kenner which is in Jefferson Parish. I don't believe NOPD does any policing here at all now. They don't have the resources to do so. JPSO does the majority although I've seen St. Charles Sheriff's Office working there as well.

JPSO and St. Charles Parish Sheriffs Dept both provide police coverage at MSY since one of runways extends into St. Charles Parish.

As of a couple of years ago, Kenner, Jefferson Parish, St Charles, and Levee Board all had a presence there. (Levee Board were the rarest to spot there.)

Damn, that's crazy for something like that to happen there. I'm thinking about all of the families with little kids going through that security checkpoint last time I was there. Must've been a horrific scene for all of them to see. Maybe I'll find some of the humor in this incident later.

Newell Normand said a 63 year old black man named Richard White attacked 2 TSA agents and JP cop with wasp spray and cut 1 lady TSA agent with a machete. JP cop shot the dude 3 times and grazed a bystander.
Apparently, the guy sprayed the 1st TSA agent with wasp spray and ran past him. He encountered 2 other TSAs. He sprayed the male TSA in the face and cut the female with his machete. He then proceeded to chase the male TSA guy around security. A JPSO stepped in and the guy sprayed him with the wasp spray too. JPSO shot the perp in the chest, face, and leg. Apparently a bystander was grazed by one of the shots.

That's so fricking typical of Louisiana politics/government. Why can't one or two agencies do it like every other airport in the country?
