Article sucks, but other articles stated that the delays is because the implosion contractor wants to be held harmless if anything goes tits up, and let's be real, there's a very good chance this thing goes tits up.
Maybe someone with some engineering experience can explain to me why we can't just use the wrecking ball to get this down. I understand it may take more days of work, but if they had started swinging the ball by now, it still might take less time than all these changed plans and issues with implosion.
And it's super concerning to me that they are still running attorneys and people through there... by now, they should have gathered all the evidence they need.
Just total incompetence all the way around, the developer, the city, the state, the contractors, the legal system, the investigators, etc.

The longer they "discuss" and "plan" this, the more money in "consulting" fees gets tossed out. A lot of folks making money off of this.

Being paid by who, though? The cheap arse insurers? The city ain't paying them. The GC and the owner sure AF isn't paying them. They all working on contingency knowing the pot is limited?

At one point (maybe still to some), there were actual claims that, long run, Katrina was good for Nola. Nobody ever claimed that Latoya was good for Nola.

No one, in their right mind, would ever willingly go through Katrina again. Never ever ever ever.
Having said that, it did force some changes that needed to be made. And many of those changes, which might not have been made but for Katrina, have improved the city.
Up until this mess, Latoya actually was doing a, by NOLA standards, a decent job. Personally, I think her crimes here are of omission, not commission. I wish she would grab her ovaries and start making demands to get this crap down.
