This is fact, too.

Perhaps the blame should go to the institutions that educated the builders, designers, engineers, construction formen, etc... what college educated these people ? The city didn’t design and construct this monstrosity, the developers did. One must admit, with all our technology we can barely put a rocket into space anymore. The dumbing down of America

They should just tilt their eyes skyward towards the collapse hotel and say "too soon"...then stroll on away.

It’s not lack of education. It’s corruption and cutting corners to maximize profit. These guys can’t just decide to build a structure in New Orleans without the permission and supervision of the city.

Responding to an earlier post that implied Katrina was a positive for the city.
Whatever changes may have been made, going through Katrina wasn't worth it.

I beg to differ so do 1000’s of other New Orleans residents.

When you say “going through Katrina”. What exactly do you mean?

The loss of jobs, loved ones, money, physical possessions, etc.
If you think it was worth it... you didn't go through it.

I lost my house, it was a total loss, we were displaced for 18 months before we moved back in.
But I guess I didn’t go through it since I didn’t lose my job or any loved ones.

I wish she would grab her ovaries and start making demands to get this crap down.
She can’t. The developers basically publicly bribed her and hold her ovaries in their hands.

Well you clearly lost your sense of humor

Oh shite. Was this exaggeration supposed to be funny or sarcastic? If so then I apologize
I though he was being serious. My apologies

The city hand picked the contractors and construction companies, ignored their atrocious past, failed to properly inspect, failed to properly monitor, failed to properly respond, and continues every single day to fail to properly address this situation.
If you put a toddler behind the wheel of a car and it crashes do you blame the toddler or the person who put him there?
This metaphor can work both with blame on the city for its hand in the construction and the citizens for electing the city government.
